The Balvenie 12 Y.O. Stories The Sweet Toast Of American Oak
The Sweet Toast of American Oak is the first in he Stories series by The Balvenie. It was created by Kelsey McKechnie, apprentice to David Stewart himself, the Malt Master of The Balvenie distillery. Sweeter and even fruitier, The Sweet Toast of American Oak is aged 12 years in bourbon casks. Next it is transferred to slow-toasted casks of virgin American oak in order to bring out an even deeper flavour and aroma. The result is a lusciously complex whisky with notes of candied fruit, coconut, and delicate vanilla.
The flavour of candied orange and lemon peel, vanilla fudge, and toffee give way to layers of floral honey, a dash of melted brown sugar and oak spices at the end.
