Glenfiddich Grand Cru
Grand Cru is an unusual proposition from the Malt Master of Glenfiddich, combining an unconventional approach to whisky and the spirit of celebration. Grand Cru is aged for 23 years in American and European oak casks. For six months its is finished in French cuvee casks, made of oak which has been previously used for fermentation of the wine which becomes the base for the finest sparkling wines of the Champagne region. It is the only single malt to undergo such an unusual treatment, giving it an exceptional flavour, a feel of luxury, and of the artistry of the Glenfiddich brand. Most Champagne houses use steel vats, but the producers who supply these casks conscientiously use oak casks which give their wines an inimitable vanilla, mineral and creamy note. Grand Cru aged in French cuvee takes on the outstanding character of Champagne wines. Sublime. fruity sweetness and a long-lasting finish.
